Invest in Tomorrow’s Innovators: Support Undergraduate Scholarships

Caltech is committed to ensuring no student should have to forfeit their dream of attending the Institute because of their ability to pay nor experience a burden of debt that could limit their ability to make an impact in our world. Therefore, we plan to raise $100 million in additional philanthropic support from alumni and friends for student scholarships.

“Caltech undergraduates bring energy, intelligence, and diverse points of view to our campus community. We are committed to making sure that these curious, optimistic, and creative students have the resources they need to achieve their full academic potential here.”

— Kevin Gilmartin, William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of English; Allen V. C. Davis and Lenabelle Davis Leadership Chair, Students Affairs; Vice President for Student Affairs

More than half of Caltech undergraduates receive need-based financial assistance, with packages typically comprising scholarships and grants, student employment, and student loans.

We aspire to establish a permanent endowment that will eliminate the need for all institutional student loans.

Scholarships are the most effective source of financial aid because they reduce the use of student loans and ensure that world-changing innovators devote themselves to learning without worrying about the cost of their education.

Your gift to scholarships makes Caltech more accessible to well-qualified students from the widest possible range of backgrounds, and will position our financial aid program to compete amongst our peer institutions.
